Life's a Beach

With graduation swiftly approaching, I found it utterly painful to go through my usual 3-week, stressful, sleep deprived, caffeine-fueled, study ritual for finals this semester. Alas, I decided to emerge from my study cave for one day last week and seek sunlight. So Jimmy and I packed up our sunblock, beach towels, my textbooks, and the children, and we headed to the beach. It was Bridget's first trip to the beach and it was wonderful!

She is all protected from the sun and ready to get in the sand!

She is a true beach bunny, we discovered!

Brooke is naturally a Florida girl. She belongs here. =)

Bridget was touching her feet into the sand for the first time. She wasn't too sure about it at first.

I spent most of the day studying this.

Jimmy spent most of the day trying to figure out how to make this crappy $1.00 kite fly...

...it never worked.

Brooke spent the entire day playing. She could not stay out of the ocean! =)
And Bridget spent most of the day like this....
....or this....
...and ended the day asleep like this. =)

All in all, it was a great decision to take my studies to the beach! This time with our family all together is so special and, sadly, is rare these days. It is so easy to get all caught up in what "has to get done" that we can too often forget about what is actually most important. And with Jimmy deploying again in a few weeks (more to come on that), it seems more important than ever.
